This past Sunday we had a blast at WinterJam. Both the music and the message were great. You can take a look at some of our fun here.
Summer Camp & Mission Trip: We’re grateful for all who showed interest and support in these ministry opportunities last week at the info meeting. If you missed the meeting, or would like more information, you can pick up packets for both trips in the Youth Center, or online at www.oneeightyone.org.
IN THE WORD THIS WEEK:
Sunday School: This past Sunday worked through a survey of 2 Peter, focusing on the validity of scriptures from 2 Peter 1. This coming week we will begin a 2 month study of the Gospel of Mark.
Wednesday Youth Group: This evening we took a examined God’s will for our lives from Christ’s prayer for us in John 17.
For Follow-Up:
- What does it mean to be sanctified?
- Why is it important for believers to be unified?
- What is one thing you can do this week to demonstrate your love for God to a classmate or sibling?
UPCOMING EVENTS & IMPORTANT INFO:
Paid Summer Internship 2014: This is the last week for applications. Please contact me if you know of someone you think might be a good fit to work with our children and youth this coming summer. We have 2 paid positions available. You can find more information to pass along to them here. Each year they provide excellent help during the very busy summer months. Along with providing them with amazing ministry experience, we anticipate needing to provide housing for at least one of them. Please contact Pastor Dan Adams or Pam Scott if you’re interested in finding out more about this opportunity.
Summer Camp: is an amazing opportunity for fun, connecting with friends, and growing closer to Christ. This year we’re going to Word of Life Island, in Schroon Lake, NY. We’ll leave Sunday, June 29, and return Saturday, July 5. The cost of camp is $359 if the $80 deposit is paid by March 30. (The cost goes up to $389 after that.) Fundraising opportunities will be available. The parent info letter, med forms, and signup are available in the Youth Center and online at www.oneeightyone.org. Upcoming 7th graders are encouraged to join us.
Mission Trip: This summer, our youth ministry will serve our local community. Our goals are to meet practical needs, build ongoing relationships with the community, and create onramps for continued ministry. Details for our daily projects are still being developed. We are looking to meet community needs in several areas. Our trip will begin on Sunday, July 20, and go through Saturday, July 26. The estimated cost for the trip is $300. Fundraising opportunities will be available. The application and $24 deposit are due by Sunday, March 23.
