Whether you like to have a plan or go with the flow, I have good news, our OneEightyOne 2018 Fall/Winter Calendar is now available!

Check it out to see what we have planned for the fall and early winter for our Student ministry by visiting our Events & Calendar Page. Also on the page you’ll see a link for our updated Medical Release and Permission Form which is a requirement for ALL students who wish to attend ANY youth group function!

The calendar is subject to change, but this at least gives our planners a great place to start!

Meet our Summer Interns!

Every summer, PHBC hires two inters to work with both our children and youth ministries. They gain valuable ministry experience while we gain additional hands and leaders during our very busy summer ministry season.

I would like to introduce our 2018 summer interns, they are Rebekah Erway and Kayla O’Neill! As you see them around, be sure to say ‘Hi’ and make them feel welcome!

Greetings! My name is Rebekah Erway. I’m a recent graduate from Cedarville University with a degree in Christian Education. I am currently not entirely sure where God wants me after school, but I want to work in ministry, especially with kids and teens. That’s why this summer is going to be great: I’ll get to love on kids and teens at Parma Heights and see how in-church ministry works. I’m a dark chocolate-lover and tea-drinker (though I will accept occasional cappuccinos) who likes Oxford commas, words that are fun to say, and hanging out with friends, relatives, and occasional large groups of strangers. I’m super excited to be here this summer and to get to see what God does at this church and through my time here!

Hey there! My name is Kayla O’Neill and I am a 21 year old Ministry Student at Moody Bible Institute. I am now a Junior as I study for my Bachelor of Arts in Ministry Leadership with a focus on Family and Children Ministries. The Lord has captured my heart and I wish to serve Him and help others find and follow Jesus Christ as I continue in my journey. Right now, that means that I am your summer intern and I am thrilled to be here and serve. Also, just a little bit about me, I love hiking/being outside, using my hammock, taking pictures, baking, puns, and I am learning to play the piano! I am so excited to work with the children and youth of PHBC and I am getting more excited by the minute as I plan and prepare for the summer events!

Youth Center Renovation and Work Day (Updated)!

This has an update over the 1st post about the work day this Saturday, the 21st.

As you all are probably aware, we started a much needed renovation of the youth center a couple of months ago. Work is progressing but there is still much to be done, and we need your help! We will be having another student work day this Saturday, from 8 am – 4 pm. It would be a huge help if you can make it for the entire work day, but even if you can only make it out for an hour, we could really use your help! Additionally, we are asking that any parents who are available would also come lend a hand!

You don’t need to have any special skills or training, but we could use all hands on deck to help make sure that we meet our completion date of June 1st. Lunch will be provided! So come on out and have some fun tearing things up, down, and then putting things back together! Do remember to wear work cloths/shoes. If you have work gloves, it might help to bring them, though we will have several pairs on hand (no pun intended).

Thanks for your help!

What are you doing this summer?!?

Still trying to figure out how to spend your free time this summer? Have you considered going to summer camp? We are looking to take a group of students to The Wild (6th-8th) and The Island (9th-12th) during the week of July 1-7th. Both camps are organized and run by Word of Life.

Summer camp is an amazing opportunity to have a week of adventures and fun. Meeting new people, playing awesome games, and having experiences that you can’t have anywhere else. But it is so much more than a fun time; it is a time to experience God like never before. As one who attended camp nearly every summer as a student, I can vouch for the fun and the life changing impact that happened every week I was there, so much so I had to work there as a college student! Camp is an investment in your student’s spiritual life that cannot be missed!

If you are interested you must complete registration AND pay the deposit by Saturday, 3-31  to take advantage of the early bird pricing!

If your student is 6th-8th they can get more info, register and pay the deposit HERE.

If your student is 9th-12th they can get more info, register and pay the deposit HERE.
