This past weekend our Jr. Highers enjoyed some the cold and snow on the toboggan chutes.  This past Monday we had a fun time celebrating a day off from school together at our Gym & Game Day. Checkout these fun pictures.

We’re going to Haiti! I want to personally invite you to join me this Sunday for a very important Summer Mission Trip Information Meeting. This will be a time to hear an overview of our ministry. There will be time for your questions. If you or your teen is remotely interested, this is the meeting for you. We’re meeting in the Sr. High Room, following the 11 am service.

Sunday School – “All In – Discovering Church Membership”:

Week Two – Our Sacraments: This week we discussed the two sacraments/ordinances that Christ left for His Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Memory Verse: Galatians 3:26-28
Making It Personal: (this is the application assignment to complete on their own)

• Baptized teens were encouraged to recall and write out why they were baptized.
• Teens who are not ready were encouraged to express their apprehensions and reservations in taking this step of obedience and faith.
• Teens desiring to be baptized are encouraged to sign-up in the Youth Center. More information will be provided soon on an upcoming March baptism.

Wednesday Youth Group:

• Miniseries: “True North – When All Seems Lost” in which we’re learning how God’s attributes and character help us through life.
• This Week’s Theme: “Fear Factor” The students learned that God wants all believers to enjoy peace and not be captives of fear.
• Scripture Memory: John 14:27
• Discussion Questions (Parents – use these to follow-up with your teen):
  • What are some of the biggest fears teens have?
  • What are some of the fears that you have faced in your life?
  • What can you do in a practical way to trust God with these fears?

Next Wednesday: True North – Storms Ahead (How difficulties in life can make us more like Christ)

Important Info:

Summer Mission Trip to Haiti, July 27 to August 3! We’ll be ministering in Haiti with Mission of Hope, where the adult team went last year. We’re still working on the final ministry details, but our ministry will revolve around work in villages, sharing Christ through kids camps, helping in orphanages, and building homes. This trip is open to 9th graders and up. Adults are welcome to join! Information packets and applications
are available in the youth center, church office, or online at www.oneeightyone.org. An information meeting for adults, parents, and teens will be held in the youth center on Sunday, February 24 at 12:30 pm. Applications are due to Dan Adams by February 27.
